ACADEMIC EDUCATION - Grades R - 12 Academics
Foundation Phase
Our Foundation Phase begins at Grade R and goes up to Grade 3. Our Academic classes are interspersed between Dance Classes, providing training and teaching of exceptional standards.
Primary Phase
Our Primary Phase begins at Grade 4 and goes up to Grade 7. In this Phase, most of our Dance classes happen in the morning with the Academics in the afternoon. This is to accommodate our Senior Dances, who begin their Dance Training in the afternoon after they have completed their morning Academic classes.
Senior Phase
Starting n 2019, our Academics will expand to include Grade 8 to 12. Senior Students take classes via Online Schools for their Academics where they will obtain an IEB Matric. Their intensive Dance Training begins at 14:30 and goes through to around 18:30 depending on the scheduled classes.
Subjects:
We make use of the Theocentric Christian Education syllabus, which prepares the students to write their Cambridge Exams when they get to Grade 10. For now, these are the grades and the subjects we offer:
Gr R-3: Mathematics, English, Creator Studies, Reading, Art, Biblical Studies
Gr 4-6: Mathematics, English, Afrikaans, Creator Studies, Biblical Studies, Reading, Art
Gr 8-12: Hatfield Curriculum
ELITE ACADEMIC CURRICULUM
Elite's Primary School follow the TCE curriculum from grade R-7.
Elite college of Excellence partners with Online School to offer students attending high school quality education. Catering for students from grade 8-12, Online School provides a well-thought out comprehensive education with tutoring assistance from education specialists. Hatfield's curriculum prepares and equips students for the IEB exams.
In addition to our experienced teachers, we have a team of dedicated adults who help to responsibly supervise and assist students while simulating a professional, productive, and enjoyable learning environment.
DANCE TRAINING
Our Elite Foundation exists to aid in the development of our organisation and help the underprivileged talent of South Africa to achieve their dreams.
Vision
The aim of Elite is to develop young male and female dancers and train them to the level that would be required in various established Ballet/Dance Companies, both in South Africa and Internationally. Together with the Ballet and Dance training the Primary School students will receive Academic Tuition of a very high standard.
Mission
Elite is a High Performance Ballet School which includes Academics as part of its overall training for the young and up-coming Professionals. We make use of our exclusive Elite Methodology, which no other school teaches, together with the RAD Method and Modern/Contemporary Dance. Our Students are trained by Professionals to one day enter the professional dance world with the required training and hours needed for this intensive Career. We strive to provide South Africa with the most well trained and talented dancers who will be an asset to any Ballet or Contemporary Company one day. Our mission includes aiming to reach the underprivileged students, as well as those who are able to afford such a high level education and dance opportunity. While Elite is a High Performance Training Centre, equal emphasis is placed on academic development as it is on vocational training. This is for the protection of the student. Should a student choose not to pursue a career in dance for any reason, it is essential to protect their options to study further. At Elite, students may participate in the academic or dance training separately if they choose. A student may also enroll in our dance classes and continue with their own schooling of choice. We have students who are private, government and home schooled. The high school academics through Elite follow the IEB standard.
